In 2010, I took a trip to Alaska and captured as much of the vast and beautiful landscape in 3D as I could.
I am working on a series of 5 short 3D web videos that can be rented or purchased on Nvidia’s or 3DeeCentral’s 3D streaming sites.
The first one is complete and takes a look at Alaska’s first city – Ketchikan. The other videos will cover Junea, Scagway, the Alaskan railroad between Seward and Anchorage, and glaciers streams and mountains around the Wasilla/Anchorage area. This was completely self produced and funded.
This was captured with my mini 3D rig. For some shots I used the 3D Film Factory’s 2 foot 30 rail to get the maximum IA for distant landscapes. Sometimes, not even this was enough and a few times I was able to use the parallax method of lateral movement for still landscapes and scenes.
